Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town

A Review by Nick Peron

Dorkive Notes: This was part of what, at the time, I was calling "Zombie Appreciation Week", which if my memory of that very foggy time (damn wine) was sometime in April. It was going to be a regular feature every year on my site, but I think what killed my motivation was when I sat through "Zombie Death House" with John Saxon. Anyway, I think the point I make very clear in this review was the fact that Billy Bob Thorton was in the movie. I pound home the fact that Troma has made a point to mention that at every turn when promoting this movie, bringing attention to the fact that a big Oscar award winning actor was in one of their movies. Which is all fine and dandy, but it detracts from the fact that the movie was still good even if he wasn't in it. I'm sure my lack of review and more boasting about Billy Bob should be evident of that. On a serious note, Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town is a very good movie, go out and see it.

I'm inclined to agree... Unless you're Billy Bob Thorton.

There is something about women on bikes... It's that Billy Bob Thorton wasn't in this shot.

"I've got an even smaller role than Billy Bob Thorton in this movie... Oh hey, I made a midget joke! HA HA HA "

No the one in front is not Billy Bob in drag.

Today we're bringing to you Troma's Chopper Chicks In Zombie Town. Who cares what the movie is about, you need to know only one thing about this movie:

The Movie Stars Billy Bob Thorton, in his FIRST Ever Roll!

Yes, the same guy who brought us Badder Santa and unhealthy relationships with other celebrities first starred in this amazing film!

Well okay, the movie didn't star him, he only had a small role playing a horny redneck (which I suppose is a role that Mr. Thorton was born to play)

The movie is instead about of a bunch of tough women bikers making a pit stop in a small town that finds itself over run with zombies created by a mad scientist. So the tough ladies must save a bus full of blind orphans and win the hearts of the towns people all in one night.

Oh and there's BILLY BOB THORTON! In the movie! Which movie? THIS ONE! WEEEE!

Anyway, I have to give Troma the thumbs up for trying to capitalize on Billy Bob Thorton being in the film, the video box has a big picture of Billy Bob right on the front, says multiple time that Billy Bob is in the movie. Also on the DVD version of the film there is a funny introduction by Lloyd Kaufman where he tries to talk to "Billy Bob Thorton" over the phone about Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town but just calls random people, pointing out to people watching the movie that if they were buying the movie with the idea that it was going to be a Billy-Bob-Thorton-Bonanza, they were seriously mistaken.

Although I thought it would have been interesting if there was a bit by Billy Bob in the extras.

Anyway, I'm not going to talk about the movie so much as a trend that smaller movie studios tend to do when people who have acted in their movies made it big, and that's slapping their names all over the thing when that happens.

Heck, Chopper Chicks isn't the first one to do it either, in fact this isn't their only other movie that had a someone who became a big name Troma's Sizzle Beach USA was the first film that Kevin Costner was in, and Blue Anchor makes it a point to state that their release of Return to Horror High stars George Clooney. Also when Sylvester Stallone made it big, the porn company that owned the rights to the first movie he was in (which was a porn) they boasted that he was in it.

Just remember folks there is no shame in trying to cash in on your small budget movie when one of the actors makes it to the big time.

That's all I really wanted to say. I'm already bored with this review anyway.

Just go out and buy this movie.

Although blind orphans are a must for any movie, they do not stave the anticipation for Billy Bob Thorton.

If I knew they didn't show Billy Bob Thorton this far into the movie I'd be doing the same thing .

Who is Minni-Dirty Harry looking at?? Could it be Billy Bob Thorton?.

LOOK! IT'S BILLY BOB THORTON! HE IS SO SEXY WHEN HE'S TRYING TO SHOVE HIS GROIN INTO A GIRL WITH FEATHERED HAIR!! HOT!!!!
