Fucking Comics: Lame Bad Guy Edition - Part 1

As an institution, and art form that has been around for over 60 odd years, one can contemplate the idea that comic books have had their share of stupidity. Shit, if you're read any of my previous editions of Fucking Comics, you know this already.

There are a number of reasons why a comic will turn out to be something really fucking stupid. The first guy you can usually blame is the writer, and maybe as an extension to that, the editor for letting such shit go to presses. A writers failing in bringing a story that doesn't reek with stupidity (at least in the past) was due to the Comic Book Code Authority. So we might as well give them a little bit of a break, it wasn't their fault, they were forced to write shitty stories because the US Congress decided that comic books were warping the minds of young people all over the country (sound familiar doesn't it?) and wanted them to be regulated or banned. Got to love America's constant touting of the First Amendment and then the government coming in and censoring things to protect people. Like "we, the people" are that hopeless that they need the man to protect us and our children from nasty things that make them think.

Anyway, one of the many elements that usually made a super-hero book fucking stupid was usually the featured villain. Of course the hero could be stupid, but usually he/she was the headliner and his/her stupid exploits could never be isolated in one single review. The story itself could be really fucking stupid, but that usually due to the interactions created by said stupid hero and stupid villain.

Today in this edition of Fucking Comics we're going to take a look at some pretty fucking stupid villains. I'm running by a few rules, I'm sticking to characters who haven't gotten much exposure, or aren't part of a characters regular roster of villains (if I can help it) and I've tried really hard to get an equal representation of the "big two" of the comic book industry.

You will however note that there is a distinct lack of Superman villains in this edition of Fucking Comics, and if you find this shocking, don't. Through all the archived research material I had on hand most of the recurring super-villains are all characters that Superman still regularly plague Superman to this day. So if you want to find out for yourself how fucking stupid Bizzaro or Mr. Mxyzptlk are, why not go out and buy a recent issue of Superman or something.
