Fucking Comics - Daredevil, the Comic Without Shame

In this round up of Fucking Comics we're going to take a look at the Daredevil comic book. More specific the early days of Daredevil.

Those of you who many not be in the know, Daredevil first came out in 1964, and was one of the many characters that was created by Stan Lee. It was a time when Spider-Man was really popular (and hey, other than the clone saga of the 90's was there ever a time when Spider-Man wasn't popular?) Stan tried again with the quirky solo hero bit. He came up with Daredevil, the blind lawyer with the super-human senses that becomes a hero when his old man is killed by crooks when he doesn't throw a boxing match.

In the 80's when Frank Miller took up writing and art duties he retconned a lot of ideas into the characters past to make him darker and grimmer than he used to be, which started an almost regular trend in rewriting Daredevil's history to fit with his current character traits.

Looking back to some of Daredevil's earlier adventures, it's no fucking surprise that they've gone back and reworked his past, because what was there to begin with was so bland, ridiculous and stupid you have to wonder what the heck they were thinking to begin with... oh right, they were trying to make another character as popular as Spider-Man. Needless to say they really didn't think this one out nor did they give much thought into what kind of villains he was going to fight.

So today we're going to take a look back at some of Daredevil's earlier exploits and I'm going at length about why I think a comic book from 40 years ago is retardedly stupid.

So we're going to take a look at a few items, first Daredevil's origins (as they were originally presented in 1964), his ugly, ugly original costume and it's various gimmicks, and finally the icing on the cake, Daredevil's original rogues gallery.

Sound like fun? Well I sure as hell hope so because I'm not writing this shit for my health, I'm writing it to share my pain.

For the sake of you people keeping track at home I'm going to be taking a look at the first six issues of Daredevil.
